DID DONALD TRUMP PHYSICALLY MOCK THE NEW YORK TIMES REPORTER?

As anyone who follows politics certainly “knows” – me included, at least until now – Donald Trump mercilessly, disgracefully, mocked Serge Kovaleski, a New York Times reporter who has a condition, arthrogryposis, which causes joints to contract and make affected body parts – in Kovaleski’s case, his right arm – immobile.

I thought what Trump did was  disgusting, and have said so multiple numbers of times on this blog.

But since Meryl Streep decided to make what Mr. Trump did the centerpiece of her acceptance speech, when receiving a lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globes last night, video has been surfacing of:

-Trump using similar motions over an 11 year period to go after people who do not have disabilities, and

-footage of Mr. Kovaleski – which certainly was available to media all this time – showing that he does not make the “spastic” movements Trump used to ridicule him – in fact, he couldn’t if he wanted to.

Want proof?  Ok.

Here, from something called catholics4trump.com, is video footage showing those other instances, and then Serge Kovaleski as he actually is.

Please, please, please, click on the link and watch them all.

Did you watch those videos?  I hope so.

Because if you did, you saw that:

-Although not as pronounced and and for a shorter duration, Mr. Trump made movements like that while going after several other people – none of them disabled – and who knows how many more that are not on this video series;

-You also saw that Serge Kovaleski does not make those movements at all.  Therefore – other than folding in his hands – as he did on the other videos – Trump could not have been imitating Kovaleski.

Was Donald Trump being nice?  No.

Was he being sarcastic and even nasty?  Yes.

But was he ridiculing Serge Kovaleski’s physical condition?  Based on what is one these videos – what I now know – I would have to say he was not.

I therefore apologize to Mr. Trump for thinking, and blogging, that he did.

Is it niceI don’t like to be wrong.  But

  • I therefore apologize to Mr. Trump for thinking, and blogging, that he did.

    I don’t think you need to apologize, the media lied to you, and it is they who owe the apology.
