Mexican authorities snared drug lord Joaquin “ElChapo” Guzman in a bloody raid Friday, recapturing one of the world\’s mostnotorious and slippery criminals.
“Mission Accomplished,” President Enrique PeñaNieto announced via Twitter. “We have him.”
Members of Mexico\’s navy caught Guzman in an operation about4:30 a.m. (6:30 a.m. ET) in the coastal city of Los Mochis in Sinaloa state, asenior law enforcement official in Mexico told CNN.
Several people aligned with Guzman died in the raid, theofficial said. The Mexican navy putthe number of dead at five, with six others arrested. No navy personnel werekilled, and only one was injured.
Now “el chapo will again go from running the cartel to being in carcel (that\’s the Spanish word for jail….pardon the lack of an accent over the “a”, for some reason this blog system doesn\’t allow it).
I figure the new escape tunnel has already started the construction. The only thing that might hold it up is delays in transportation for the workers coming in from Gaza.
