The destruction of our education system, and the damage to our children, continues apace.
Here is the latest example, from Alice Wright’s article for London’s Daily Mail (try and find this kind of news in our domestic media…
A Bay Area Elementary School has spent $250,000 on a ‘Woke Kindergarten’ program only to see its student’s literacy and numeracy rates plunge.
The ‘Woke Kindergarten’ program states its mission as an ‘abolitionist early learning ecosystem’ that trains teachers to uproot white supremacy, disrupt racism and oppression which are barriers to learning.
After spending the federal money on the program Glassbrook Elementary in Hayward saw numeracy (math) among its 474 students fall to a new low of just 4 percent and literacy just 12 percent.
The scores, recorded last Spring two years into Woke Kindergarten’s three-year contract, represent a 4 percentage decline in each category.
The school also remains on the state’s lowest-performing level on the Comprehensive School Improvement list and has a lower rate of attendance than before the program was introduced.
Translation: they took a school with children who are terribly underperforming… and managed to lower performance even further.
And how did they accomplish this? By politicizing “teaching” (to the hard left, of course; this is the Bay Area). Instead of trying to upgrade basic learning, i.e. what these children will need to succeed in life), tools such as math and english are being subordinated to far-left political indoctrination.
But look at the bright side; it only cost $250,000 to get these, er, results.

Yep, this is the “educator” being relied upon to prepare young children for the real world.

Will the parents at Glassbrook Elementary rise up and demand that their children be taught basic learning instead of how to be left wing robots?
Well, it is two years into this program, and the article shows almost no serious pushback.
As for the people who run the schools, we have this:
Hayward Superintendent Jason Reimann defended the school’s decision to hire Woke Kindergarten, telling the Chronicle parents, teachers and staff identified the provider as a means to boost student achievement by improving attendance.
‘We are in favor 100% of abolishing systems of oppression where they hold our students back,’ he said.
‘What I do believe is we should pick providers based on their work and how effective they are.’
Evidently, this genius believes the children are being well served. I guess Reimann considers 4% math proficiency and 12% literacy a positive accomplishment for the students there.
How would you feel if you were the parent of a child in that school and this level of “learning” was seen in a positive light?
I hate to use the term hopeless. But, to be perfectly honest, every indication is that the possibilities for a serious education of any kind in this place, with this leadership are just that. Hopeless is the only word that fits.
