Here are highlights (if that word actually applies) from the latest, just-released poll data from Gallop on how Americans feel about Israel:
-46% feel more favorably toward Israel than toward “Palestinians”, versus 33% who feel more favorably toward “Palestinians”. That is down dramatically from the 64% – 19% Israel favorability just 7 years ago in 2018.
So does that mean Americans, in general, are less favorably disposed toward Israel?
Not exactly.
In 2018 Democrat were more favorable to Israel by 49% – 31%. Now, having been taken over by the hard left and the “woke” crowd, Democrats are dramatically more favorable toward “Palestinians” than Israel. The pro-“Palestinian” difference? 59% – 21%.
By contrast, Republicans currently are more favorable toward Israel by a whopping 75% – 10%.
Got that? Republican favorability toward Israel is +65% Democrat favorability is -38% That is a +103% Republican favorability difference when it comes to Israel.
Gallup’s conclusion:
Americans’ sympathies with the Israelis continue to decline, largely because of Democrats’ dwindling support for the Israelis in the long-standing conflict with the Palestinians. Republicans remain overwhelmingly sympathetic toward the Israelis.
My conclusion: It is not “largely because of Democrats’ dwindling support for the Israelis”. It is damn near EXCLUSIVELY because of Democrats’ dwindling support for the Israelis.
What’s yours?
