George H. W. Bush, who passed away last November, held that title at 94 years 171 days. But today is Jimmy Carter’s 94th year and 172nd day, so he is the new record holder.
And, given the ages of every other currently living president, Mr. Carter’s newly-acquired status is guaranteed to hold for at least 21 more years.
Political differences aside, I wish Mr. Carter many more years of good health and happiness.
