Watch this 1:55 minute video of CNN host Kasie Hunt interviewing Trump Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, and then abruptly talking over her….and cutting off her off completely – mic, video, everything – when she dared to point out that the moderators for Thursday’s debate between Trump and President Biden, Jake Tapper and Dana Bash (especially Tapper) have long histories of anti-Trump commentary.
I guess CNN doesn’t want its viewers – fewer and fewer of them compared to Fox and MSNBC in recent years – to hear this allegation.
But is it true? At one point in the clip Leavitt says – well, tries to say – “it would take someone five minutes to google ‘Jake Tapper Donald Trump to see that Jake Tapper has…”
I assume the rest of that sentence would have been “…to see that Jake Tapper has a history of being anti-Trump”. But viewers never got a chance to hear it, because Kasie Hunt shut her up and got rid of her.
But, just for fun, I did what Leavitt suggested; I googled Jake Tapper Donald Trump. And among the entries, I found this compendium of extremely anti-Trump commentaries by Tapper over the years. It was put together by – no surprise here – Fox News Channel, not any major network or MSNBC…and certainly not CNN of course. So maybe, just maybe, Karoline Leavitt has a point.
Too bad for the folks who rely on CNN for news, that they’ll never know.
Ironically, it would not surprise me if, the expectation for Tapper and Bash to be overtly anti-Trump having been established both here and elsewhere, these two will bend over backwards to “prove” they aren’t biased toward Biden by being evenhanded, maybe even favoring Trump a bit.
I guess we’ll find out on Thursday, won’t we?
