Yesterday was October 7; the second anniversary of hamas’ massacre of over 1,200 innocent human beings in northern Israel and taking of over 250 hostages.
I read that there were going to be “protests” – celebrations, actually – against Israel/in support of “free Palestine” (read that as hamas being allowed to continue its control of Gaza) all around the city.
Think about that: using the anniversary of a massacre – almost all the victims unarmed civilians, including women and children – to protest not the people who committed these atrocities, but the massacre victims.
Well, it turns out – small consolation, but small is better than none at all – the extent of those protests appears to have been exaggerated.
The largest one was outside the building that houses the New York Post, Fox News and the Wall Street Journal, then up 6th Avenue toward Columbus Circle. There also were smaller protests at a number of other places around the five boroughs.
Here, from Dorian Geiger and Shane Galvin’s article for the New York Post, is a picture of the main protest (please note the professionally-printed signs…then wonder who printed them and who paid for them):

Great signs. And not a care in the world that if Gaza is starving it is because their hamas heroes are expropriating the food and supplies, or that if hamas laid down its arms the war would it started would end that day.
And here is one other picture woth noting:

This one is particularly interesting/telling, since the woman (assuming this is a woman) carrying the sign – with those exposed arms, tattoos and, it appears, a nose ring – could not make it down one block anywhere in Gaza without having the living shit beaten out of her…and probably a lot worse:
This is what Israelis deal with every day.
I don’t know how they do it.
