Depending on how old you are and/or how interested you are in long-ago popular music, you might remember the enormously popular Al Jolson standard, “California, Here I Come”.
These days, given the sorry and getting sorrier state of California, a modern-day Jolson might instead be singing “California, There It Goes”.
Beege Welborn’s latest commentary at hotair.com, provides two classic examples of things that Democrats – the predominating political party during California’s fast-track descent – are doing that, at least to me, are geared toward making good and sure that they continue running what has become of this once-great state.
-One example is their successful effort to prevent a pre-primary debate to take place.
The debate was scheduled to have taken place on the campus of the University of Southern California last night. But it was cancelled – on less than 24 hours’ notice – because Democrats furiously objected to the fact that all its participants (who were selected based on a formula, created a long time ago and had no racial component whatsoever) were all White.
Fascinating, isn’t it. A debate, where Republicans would have a chance to call Democrats on their ruinous policies that are destroying the state, was cancelled because of its racial makeup…by people invoking racism as the reason.
What do you call someone who demands the rules must be ignored to force a specific racial result? Think of a six letter word starting with “r” and ending with “t”.
-The other example involves last November’s vote on Proposition 50, which enables California to redraw its congressional maps and make what already is a wildly Democrat-skewed roster of congressional districts even more Democrat-skewed.
In Riverside County, 611,428 ballots were cast. But the certified count was 657, 322; 45,896 more votes than the number cast.
See a problem there? Assuming your IQ is in at least double digits I assume you do.
So the Sheriff of that country, Chad Bianco – who also is running for Governor, it should be noted – got the appropriate warrants and took the vote logs evidence to a judge, properly got the warrants, and seized the paper ballots, intending to perform a recount.
Democrats are fighting this recount tooth and nail. Any doubt about why?
OK, there they are. And there’s a lot more to read about both of them. You’ve got the link (here it is again). I urge you to read about both…
…and then think about those song lyrics again.
It’s a little late for Al Jolson – he died in 1950. But maybe “Weird Al” Yankovic would have a go at it.
