Question: what is the least consequential day of a political party’s presidential convention?
Answer: it is the first day. Before any of the big shots speak. Before enthusiasm is built to a crescendo, culminating in the grand finale; the candidate’s acceptance speech.
Question: so what day has the Democrat convention consigned Joe Biden’s speech to?
Answer: the first/most inconsequential day – after which he will be gone. One day and out. The convention continues without him.
In other words, “We have to give Biden a speech. Let’s hope voters will believe this means he’s OK with Kamala being handed the nomination he won in those no competition primaries we rigged. But that’s all. Once the speech is over, get him the eff out of here ASAP. Goodbye and good riddance.”
Last month Biden told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos:
“If the Lord Almighty came down and said, ‘Joe, get out of the race,’ I’d get out of the race. But the Lord Almighty is not coming down.”
So how do you think Biden feels about the fact that, just days later, he (and his imperial/imperious wife Jill “Lady MacBiden”) were unceremoniously dumped…and, now, given the day-one bum’s rush at the convention?
Simply stated, anyone who thinks the enmity and bitterness Biden feels, after winning every primary but then being dumped like yesterday’s garbage in favor of a cackling flyweight who didn’t win even one primary vote, is over – or even somewhat ameliorated – needs to think harder. A lot harder.
