BENGHAZI AND MEDIA BIAS

Ken Berwitz

This one is for anyone left whodoubts the extend of bias which pervades mainstream media.

Excerpted from an article atbreitbart.com:

During the 2012 presidential debate, Mitt Romney had said it took Obama 14 days to admit the attack was terrorism but Obama bulked saying he did that day, but when asked the next day he is seen refusing to give a terror motive saying, “Well, it\’s too early to know exactly how this came about, what group was involved. but, obviously, it was an attack on Americans.”

Attkisson said, “Let me say that that exchange should have been pulled out immediately after the debate, which would have been very newsy at the time. It was exclusive to CBS. It would have to me proven Romney\’s point against Obama. But that clip was kept secret.”

“I was covering Benghazi, nobody told me we had it and directed me from the \’Evening News\’ to a different clip of the same interview to give the impression that the president had done the opposite. And it was only right before the election that somebody kind of leaked out the transcript to others of us as CBS and we were really shocked. We saw that was something very unethical done to have kept that up.”

That clear enough for you?

And, ironically, as compelling as thisquote is, it wasn\’t even needed: President Obama spent a solid two weeks trying to con us into believing that the Benghazi massacre (or is that “man-made disaster”?) was the result of an obscure video no one knew or gave a damn about — and then,  referred to thevideo – not any terrorist act – for a solid two weeks after theBenghazi massacre… and, even then, only grudgingly acknowledged that terrorism might have had something to do with something.

A news organization with the quote Ms.Attkisson describes should have been in heaven.

Do you doubt for a second that if the Presidentmaking that comment were, say, George Bush, it would have been outthere within an hour.

But not at CBS. Nope, that was going tobe their little secret, Mr. Obama\’s and the CBS news team, until itwas too late for voters to react.

Anyone who thinks that media bias doesnot exist, needs to think harder. A lot harder.
