….I thought I would remind them – and you – of a number of quotes from people they seemed to like/who they didn’t derisively dismiss after the quotes were voiced.
With a major tip of my hat to someone using the internet name “fire Cservants” (???), here they are:
-Barack Obama – 2006 Senate address on immigration reform:
“Illegal immigration is bad for illegal immigrants & bad for the workers against whom they compete”. “Americans are right to demand better border security & better enforcement of the immigration laws, But those who enter our country illegally & those who employ them, disrespect the rule of law.”
-Barack Obama – 2014 national address on immigration:
“Undocumented workers broke our immigration laws, & I believe that they must be held accountable – especially those who may be dangerous”
-Bill Clinton – State of the Union address, January 24, 1995:
“All Americans, not only in the States most heavily affected but in every place in this country, are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country. The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public service they use impose burdens on our taxpayers”.
-Hillary Clinton – August 28, 1993:
“Healthcare benefits should not be extended to undocumented workers & illegal aliens we don’t want to do anything that would encourage more illegal immigration into this country. We know now that too many come into this country for medical care as it is. We don’t want them having the same benefits that American citizens are entitled to have”
-Chuck Schumer, 2009:
“Illegal immigration is wrong, plain and simple, People who enter the United States without our permission are illegal aliens and illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who entered the U.S. legally.”
-Nancy Pelosi, – CSPAN, December 15, 2005:
“We have an obligation as elected officials to keep the American people safe & our borders are the first line. of defense to do that.” “Democrats support also enforcing laws, current laws against those who came here illegally and those who hire illegal immigrants.”
There are the quotes.
Now tell me: Do you happen to recall the Grammy crowd objecting when these Democrats spoke out definitively against illegal immigration? Illegal aliens?
Me neither.
All it took was a Republican hated by the entertainment crowd (please excuse my redundancy) to be serious about policies that are in 100% lock-step with the quotes you just read to bring out the hatred.
If you have even a minimal amount of common sense and honesty, this should tell you volumes about the “see, I’m a good person, I hate ICE as much as you do, we’re members of the same club, please like me” crowd making morons of themselves at the GRAMMY awards show in Los Angles last night.
