Anger over beingkicked out of a UC Merced study group drove an 18-year-old computer sciencestudent to make a precise plan to kill “a lot of people,” according to atwo-page, hand-written manifesto found during his autopsy, authorities saidThursday.
Faisal Mohammad, aslender freshman in glasses, entered his Wednesday morning class with a 10-inchknife, a backpack filled with zip-tie handcuffs, duct tape and, in his pocket,a point-by-point script for vengeance, Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke told reporters: “He had a pretty elaborate idea of what he wanted to do.”
Mohammad rolled outhis plan, attacking and wounding one student as the professor and others in theroom screamed. Then, something happened that interrupted his script, Warnkesaid. A nearby construction worker heard the screams and burst in. The31-year-old Merced man tangled with the teen, who slashed him with the knifeand then fled the room. Mohammad would stab and wound two other people beforehe was chased down by campus police and shot to death.
“The fortunate partis,” Warnke said, “his plans went haywire because people fought back … a verybrave construction worker who stopped this from going on. It took his scriptaway from him.”
A murderous idiot grabs a weapon, writes a “manifesto” (talk about overstatement) and starts stabbing people. He is attacked by a nearby construction worker, who is slashed for his trouble, then stabs more people until campus security shoots him dead.
I have a question: if faisal mohammad had a gun instead of a knife, what do you think would have happened?
Can we agree that this story would be talking about dead people instead of stabbing victims?
Can we agree that the construction worker, who heroically jumped in to try and stop mohammad might have been shot dead instead of just injured?
Can we agree that after shooting the construction worker, mohammad could have continued on his murderous rampage and put more people in the hospital or the morgue?
Can we agree that if he had a gun, armed security might not have been able to shoot him, but might have engaged in a gunfight which could have injured or killed still more people, including the security guards themselves?
So what do we conclude from this?
First off, we conclude that, the four injuries notwithstanding, UC – Merced is damn lucky this genius used a knife instead of a gun.
We conclude that, if he had decided to get a gun – illegal guns being easily obtainable, as demonstrated by the fact that just about every gangbanger in the USA has one – things would have been far worse.
We conclude that if he had decided to get a gun – whether legally or illegally – no gun control laws would have stopped him, since by definition he would be ignoring gun control laws.
And we conclude that a 10″ knife, easily obtainable at countless retail stores around the country, is a dangerous weapon which can be used to hurt or kill people.
So why not laws against knives? How about some serious knife-control legislation?
Oh, one other thing: if campus security at UC-Merced were unarmed, what\’s the over-and-under on how many other people would have been stabbed and either injured or killed before this lunatic was stopped?

A handwritten manifesto carried by a Californiacollege student whose stabbing spree Wednesday left four wounded bore names ofhis targets, a vow “to cut someone’s head off” and as many as five reminders to “praise Allah,” law enforcement authorities told FoxNews.com, while insistingthat neither terrorism nor religion appear to be motives in the attack.
If ever there were a classic example of stupidity bordering on insanity, this has got to be the classic. faisal mohammad TELLS us he wants to perform a beheading – exactly what radical Islamic ISIS lunatics do – and TELLS us to praise Allah – five times…….but it has nothing to do with terrorism or religion.
I don\’t know which “law enforcement authorities” said this. But I do know they are either complicitors or morons.
The trick of “flick opening” is one of the most basic butterfly knife trainer tricks; any balisong enthusiast ought to be familiar with this trick and should find no difficulty in nailing it in no time. In order to perform this trick, the wielder of the butterfly knife trainer has to flick his/her wrist in order to send away the “bite” handle of the butterfly knife trainer.
