This is for the amazingly ill-informed people who actually believe that Israel is an “apartheid state”.
With all the attention being paid to Benjamin Netanyahu’s victory, it would be a shame if another significant result of the Israeli national elections got lost in the haze.
The Arab presence in Israel’s Knesset (Parliament) grew from 12 members to 17.
That’s right. Almost 15% of Israel’s 120 member Parliament is comprised of Arabs – who have exactly the same legislative and voting rights that Jewish Knesset members do.
And the reason, in no small part, is because Arabs are able to vote in Israeli elections – men and women both – exactly as Jews do.
That’s some apartheid state they have there.
