AN INVITE THAT SHOULD END A CAMPAIGN RUN

From Carter Schroppe’s article for the Washington Examiner:

Wisconsin Democratic gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong hosted left-wing commentator Hasan Piker at a campaign rally in Milwaukee on Sunday alongside Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

The current front-runner for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination, Hong has leaned into populist messaging about the cost of living throughout her campaign and is backed by the Democratic Socialists of America. Hong strengthened her ties with the Democratic Party’s ascendant socialist wing by inviting Piker, an internet personality known for promoting an anti-Israel and anti-establishment platform, to speak at the event.

Isn’t that special?

A hardline socialist – who is the leading candidate to win the Democrat primary and be the party’s candidate for Governor of Wisconsin – invites a socialist, hate-filled anti-semite to her campaign rally.

If, despite this ugly association, Hong wins the August 11 primary – which, given the fact that she is way ahead of her competition in the polls, looks like a fait accompli – this is what Democrats will be offering Wisconsin voters.

Would the voters of Wisconsin – generally considered a “purple” (i.e. it could go either way) state – actually elect such a person governor?

If I were a Wisconsin resident – or, for that matter, a resident anywhere else in the United States – this would worry me.  Really worry me.

What the hell has happened to the Democrat Party?
