An Allegedly Civilized World Genuflects to Hamas

Let me start by admitting that the title of this blog is copied from the title of Star Parker’s latest article at newsbusters.org.

Ms. Parker’s article cites, and laments, how much of the world has managed to contort reality so completely that they seem to see hamas-led Gaza as the aggrieved party in the Israel/Gaza war (that hamas started and joyously told the world it was proud of) and want to reward it with”a Palestinian state” of undetermined borders (maybe they’d like to include Jerusalem and Tel Aviv).

There is a lot of worthwhile reading here.  But the single most compelling part, to me, is this:

After invading Israel 22 months ago, committing atrocities and murdering 1,200 and taking 250 hostages, they have managed to hold Israel and the world at bay, unleashing waves of antisemitism in Europe and the U.S. and bringing major world leaders to speak in favor of a Palestinian state.

One major part of President Donald Trump’s platform that brought him victory last year was a promise to purge our country of the many millions who crossed our borders and live in our country illegally.

Suppose we had an incident like what Israel has suffered through.

The equivalent of 1,200 murdered in Israel is over 44,000 Americans. Suppose they, like what Israel suffered through, were not just murdered but violently raped and sexually mutilated.

Would we negotiate with these creatures? Would their demands touch sympathetic chords amongst our population? We hear what Trump has to say about those who have violated our borders to come here to work. Can we even imagine what he would say about those who committed atrocities against our population?

Or could we even imagine granting them sovereignty next to us knowing their great dream is that we are eliminated?

I urge you to use the link (here it is again) and read every word.  Then, picking up on Ms. Star’s example,  think about any of the countries now willing to confer statehood on “Palestine” –  would have done if it had happened to them.

Oh, one other thing.  in 1941, about 2,400 deaths – virtually all military – were incurred by the United States at Pearl Harbor, when we had a population of about 133 million people.

By contrast, the low-end estimate of hamas’ massacre in 2023 was 1,200 people in Israel (that’s before we count the 250 hostages) – almost all of them non-military – out of a population of about 10 million.  Do the math and you will find that, population-proportionately, there were more than six times as many deaths in Israel as there were at Pearl Harbor.  Put another way, population-proportionately, the equivalent USA death toll would have been about 14,500.

The 2,400 death toll at Pearl Harbor resulted in The United States declaring war on Japan and devastating it, including the dropping of 2 atom bombs – at Hiroshima and Nagasaki – into general population areas.

So tell me:  what is Israel supposed to do about a proportional loss of over 14,000?

That’s worth thinking about.
