Is the Trump administration, fresh from its direct involvement in peace deals between India/Pakistan, Israel/Iran and Rwanda/The Congo, about to also orchestrate a deal between Israel and Syria????
From an article at Tag24news, via msn.com:
Damascus, Syria – Syria said on Friday it was willing to cooperate with the US to reimplement the 1974 disengagement agreement with Israel, which created a UN-patrolled buffer zone separating the two countries’ forces.
In a statement following a phone call with his US counterpart Marco Rubio, Asaad al-Shaibani expressed Syria’s “aspiration to cooperate with the United States to return to the 1974 disengagement agreement.”
Washington has been pushing diplomatic efforts towards a normalization deal between Syria and Israel, with envoy Thomas Barrack saying last week that peace between the two was now needed.
Speaking to The New York Times, Barrack confirmed this week that Syria and Israel were engaging in “meaningful” US-brokered talks to end their border conflict.
Following the toppling of longtime Syrian ruler Bashar al-Assad in December, Israel deployed its troops into the UN-patrolled zone separating Syrian and Israeli forces.
It has also launched hundreds of air strikes on military targets in Syria and carried out incursions deeper into the country’s south.
Syria and Israel have technically been in a state of war since 1948.
Could it be? Is it even possible?
I am not familiar with the website this article comes from. But it seems to be very well referenced, and is citing a key source, the New York Times, that (in my opinion) would not be fast to credit either Trump or Israel with this kind of progress toward peace unless it was for real.
If a US-brokered peace agreement, however tenuous, is reached between Israel and Syria – to add to the other peace deals listed above – that would not just be great news. It would be amazing bordering on unthinkable.
Now, add it to the closing of our borders (which were non-existent under Biden/his puppeteers), a huge boost in NATO funding by members that have spent decades forcing us to pay most of the freight, and the so-far remarkably successful tariff strategy (tens of billions in tariffs received, but – despite all those dire predictions of a crashed economy – with lower unemployment, all-time highs in two major stock indices and a 20% drop in inflation from 3.0% to 2.4%)…
…and then consider the fact that this this is all happening in less than one-half year of President Trump’s’ term of office.
I don’t care whether you hate Trump, love him or anything in between. I do not believe you can find any President who has ever produced more beneficial results in a shorter period of time.
I can only hope that this winning streak continues and expands even further over the rest of his term.
