It is now being reported that all the Black players on the University of Missouri\’s football team are on strike until the school\’s President, Tim Wolfe, resigns.
So far, all Wolfe has done is apologize. For what? no one knows, since he is not personally responsible for any of the several incidents this brouhaha is about.
Well, that didn\’t work. Now here\’s a different way.
Grow a pair of balls – I don\’t mean footballs either – and inform the players that they do not get to make policy decisions by reneging on the conditions of their scholarships. Tell them that if they don\’t play, or if they “play”, but make it clear they are not trying (the classic end-around when someone is forced to do what they don\’t want to do), their scholarships will be summarily revoked.
In short, take back control of the University you are paid to be President of. And, for God sake, stop the ass-kissing; stop overseeing a PC-a-thon put on by academic – or, in this case, athletic – brownshirts.
Uh….President Wolfe? You out there somewhere? How about it?
