Here is what Hillary Clinton said, in Thursday’s debate, about releasing the transcripts of speeches she made to a who’s who of Wall Street:
“There are certain expectations when you run for president. This is a new one, and I’ve said that if everybody agrees to do it — because there are speeches for money on the other side, I know that,” she said. “But I will tell you this, there is a long-standing expectation that everybody running release their tax returns, and you can go to my website and see eight years of tax returns and I’ve released 30 years of tax returns and I think every candidate, including Sen. Sanders and Donald Trump, should do the same.”
My question to Ms. Clinton: What does anyone else’s release of any speech to any group have to do with whether you release yours?
If there is nothing that embarrasses Hillary Clinton in those transcripts, nothing that shows her to be a lying hypocrite, then she would be RUSHING to release them, no matter what any other candidate did.
The fact that she has set up an impossible condition – i.e. Sanders, notably, has no such speeches to release because he didn’t make any, and Republicans aren’t about to kneel before a Democrat candidate’s request – tells you she has zero intention of ever making them public.
Let me repeat what I said above: if there is nothing that embarrasses Hillary Clinton in those transcripts, nothing that shows her to be a lying hypocrite, then she would be RUSHING to release them, no matter what any other candidate did.
Other than the most dedicated, unconditional Hillary-owned suckup, how can anyone possibly not see this?
