A quick question for the Democrats who want to ban gun sales to people on the no-fly list (a position I support, provided there is good reason for them to be on that list, and a serious appeal process in case there are mistakes):
Do you think we should ban people on the terrorist watch list from working in the Department of Homeland Security?
Excerpted from Adam Kredo\’s article at the Washington Free Beacon:
At least 72 employees at the Department of Homeland Securityare listed on the U.S. terrorist watch list, according to a Democraticlawmaker.Rep. Stephen Lynch (D., Mass.) disclosed that a congressionalinvestigation recently found that at least 72 people working at DHS also “wereon the terrorist watch list.”
“Back in August, we did an investigation-the inspectorgeneral did-of the Department of Homeland Security, and they had 72 individualsthat were on the terrorist watch list that were actually working at theDepartment of Homeland Security,” Lynch told Boston Public Radio.
Which of the two do you figure poses more of a threat to us? People on a no-fly list, who are there for a multitude of reasons, or people on a terrorist watch list, all of whom are there because they are suspected of terrorist activity?
While most of our mainstream media remain busy pounding Republicans for their refusal to vote in favor of denying guns to no-fly list people, it would be nice to see at least a fraction of concern about people on a terrorist watch list working for Homeland Security.
Given the current state of mainstream media, I\’d settle for one tenth, and consider us lucky to get it.
