A LITTLE SOMETHING THE WASHINGTON POST LEFT OUT

Ken Berwitz

Alyssa Rosenberg writes for the Washington Post.  And she has written a review of the new movie “13 Hours:  The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi”.

Ms. Rosenberg\’s opinion is that the movie stinks…and that it is a ridiculous attempt to legitimize conspiracy theories about the Benghazi massacre, which does not work.  Hence, her final paragraph:

“13 Hours” might be a movie that thrills people who havebeen obsessed with conspiracy theories about Benghazi for years. But it doesn\’tmake much of a case that people who have dismissed the political attempts tomake hay from Benghazi ought to reconsider picking up a pitchfork.

Fair enough.  Ms. Rosenberg is perfectly fine with hating this movie.

But I have a problem with the Washington Post\’s description her – which, in its entirety, is that “Alyssa Rosenberg blogs about pop culture for The Washington Post\’s Opinions section.”

Do you think it just might have been helpful for The Post to tell us that Ms. Rosenberg\’s husband is Matt Gertz, who write for mediamatters.com; a web site which hates – and I do mean hates with a passion – anyone who claims that Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration lied about Benghazi?

Here\’s a little taste of his handiwork:

Despite a laundry list of nearly identicalconclusions about the events, and thecomplete absence of a White House cover-up or wrongdoing,Republicans, spurred on by Fox News, press ahead in search of”answers” to supposedly elusive questions.

Complete absence?  As in President Obama and Hillary Clinton did not lie to our faces about a video being the cause of the massacre?  As if Hillary Clinton did not lie to the families of the four dead Americans by telling them that it was?

Maybe I\’m just hopelessly old-fashioned, but I think that a Washington Post writer\’s husband is writing this kind of material about the subject of a movie that writer is reviewing, The Post should let us know about it – so we can draw our own conclusions about how compromisded/partisan the writer might be.

What do you think?
