A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT THOSE 140 POLICE OFFICERS (ALLEGEDLY) INJURED ON JANUARY 6

I just read it again.

For the umpteenth time I read that, on January 6, 2021, 140 police officers (sometimes the number is 142) were injured during the protests/incursion at the Capital Building.

I have never – NEVER – seen any evidence to support this claim.

The closest I have come to finding any was this:

“Around 140 officers were injured during the insurrection including officers with crushedcrushed spinal discs, broken kneecaps, and traumatic brain injuries,” U.S. Capitol Police Labor Committee Chairman Gus Papathanasiou said in a statement provided to Fox News on Wednesday. “Some of these officers may never return to duty.  Many more are experiencing signs of PTSD.”

In other words, we have the word of a police union guy.  No specifics, just his say-so.  The end.

Let’s remember that we were told – and in some places continue to be told – that 5 or 6 police officers died on that day.  But this was completely debunked.  Not one police officer died that day, but one, Officer Brian Sicknick, did die the day afterward – of natural causes unrelated to the events of January 6.  In other words, a coincidence.

Has anyone provided a list of the actual injured officers?  If there are officers with injuries as serious as crushed spinal discs, broken kneecaps, and traumatic brain injuries, there must be a list of those names somewhere. Where is it? And what, exactly, are the “signs” of PTSD?  What does that even mean?

Then there is the video issue.

We have massive video footage of the January 6 events.  Have you – has anyone – seen video of severely injured police officers being transported out of the Capital Building?  It seems to me that if there were officers with crushed spinal discs and broken kneecaps, there would be video of those officers, obviously in physical agony, being taken on stretchers to waiting ambulances.  Have you seen any such video?  I know I haven’t.

In considering the above, let’s remember that we were told – and in some places continue to be told – that 5 or 6 police officers died on that day.  This was completely debunked.  Not one police officer died that day, but one did die the day afterward – of natural causes unrelated to the events of January 6.  In other words, a coincidence.

So you’ll pardon me if I’m skeptical – VERY skeptical – of the 140 injured officers claim.

I’ll end with two more questions:

-Can someone provide a list of these officers and their specific injuries?

-And if there is no list available – one that can be checked – then why should we believe this?
