Will this cost Jeff Zucker – Current President of CNN Worldwide/former CEO of NBC – Jeff Zucker his job?
It damn well ought to.
CNN has run an 8-part series titled “Chicagoland”, which, supposedly is an true-to-life look at how Chicago runs.
I suppose that, in a sense, it has accomplished this…because the show has intentionally been rigged, to show Mayor Rahm Emanuel in the best possible light.
How do I know this?
I know it because the Chicago Tribune has glommed onto hundreds of emails which passed between CNN personnel and the Chicago Mayor\’s office, which make it 100% clear that the supposedly “neutral” news network was coordinating its “Chicagoland\’ series with Mayor Emanuel\’s people, to, as one of the emails actually says, portray him as “the star that he really is”.
No I\’m not kidding. This is not a satirical post. Want to see some of the emails?

And be prepared to be astonished – not only by the blatantly obvious effort to rig Chicagoland, but by the funny coincidence that its producer, Marc Levin, has the same name (other than a “c” rather than a “k”) as conservative judicial activist/radio show host Mark Levin. This may be the one and only similarity between these two.
Maybe I\’m just naive, but I keep thinking that the purpose of a news organization is to present news, not partisan BS pretending to be news. And these emails leave no doubt that Chicagoland is partisan BS pretending to be news.
Who should pay the price for this absolute disgrace? It seems to me that if heads are going to roll, the first one should be the head honcho. And that\’s Zucker.
