I congratulate President Barack Obama.
On this morning\’s Today Show we were told that, when President Obama and Russia\’s President Vladimir Putin talked, much of the time was spent “talking past each other”…but that President Obama refuted the points that President Putin was making.
We won! We won!
Oh, by the way, Putin still has troops controlling the Crimean peninsula and, according to CNN\’s lead article, may start seizing US and European assets there.
But I bet Obama can, brilliantly and irrefutably, tell him why he shouldn\’t be doing this. Then we\’d win again, right?
Five years of feckless, driftless, often disastrous foreign policy encouraged Putin to not worry one little bit about Barack Obama. Does he really think a conversation which Obama “won” – according to the Obama people, that is (wouldn\’t you like to hear what Putin\’s people think of the conversation?) is going to mean anything to him?
Five years of this…and counting.
During their last debate, when Mitt Romney – 100% correctly – identified Russia as a geopolitical threat, Barack Obama famously snarked back that “The 80\’s called, they want their talking points back”.
Too bad the 80\’s didn\’t call President Obama back – to one or another of those colleges that no one remembers him from; the ones he never released his grades from and our wonderful “neutral” media never tried to find out about (just like they did with Bush, right?).
Three more years until we might – might – have a real President again.
