To the surprise of no one, I would think, Baltimore State\’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby has charged 6 police officers in the death of Freddie Gray.
Of course she was going to do this. If she did not, there would have been spontaneous riots in Baltimore and many other cities around the country. The politics of the situation made her decision inevitable.
That said, however, the ability to actually convict any of these officers of a crime, seems remote. Unless additional video turns up, there is no overt evidence of any wrongdoing. And even if you assume that one or more of the police caused Gray\’s injuries, there is no way to prove which of them did it.
It will be very interesting to see how this plays out. . And we all have a front row seat.
