ROBERT GATES\’ UNDERSTATEMENT

Ken Berwitz

This exchange took place yesterday, between conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt and former Obama administration Secretary Of Defense, Robert Gates:

Hewitt: One ofyour colleagues, Mike Morell, said on this program, or actually agreed with myassertion that almost certainly, Russians, Chinese and Iranians had compromisedthe home brew server of the former Secretary of State. He agreed with that. Doyou agree with his assessment of my assessment?

Gates: Well, given the fact that thePentagon acknowledges that they get attacked about 100,000 times a day, I thinkthe odds are pretty high.

To which I reply…..DOH.

The Secretary of State is the chief foreign officer of theUnited States of America.  He/she is a virtual certain to be provided withclassified information every day.  And claiming that the 30,000 (herestimate, not anyone else\’s) emails she erased, and all the others were nevermarked classified – as if the Secretary of State doesn\’t get to see informationuntil a middle-grade 9 to 5er at State reads and stamps them first, is aninsult to anyone with a functioning brain.

Anyone who thinks the Russians, Chinese and Iranians….along with X number of other countries, both friend and foe – weren\’t tapping into the mother lode of classified information Hillary Clinton so accommodatingly handed them is an insult even to people without a functioning brain.

I often point out that Hillary Clinton has a 30-plus year record virtually devoid of any accomplishments.  This, however, shows I may not be correct.

Handing over four years of our classified data to the rest of the world on a silver platter, while convincing at least some people to suspend all logic and try as best they can to believe it didn\’t happen, is an “accomplishment”.

Let\’s hope and pray there are no more like it….and no additional four, or eight, years for her to provide “accomplishments” of a similar nature.
