Today\’s paragraphs come to us from The New York Times\’ Nicholas Confessore and Jason Horowitz. In them, we see how deep the disconnect between Hillary Clinton\’s words and her actions go, and how badly they are hurting her in the left-lurching Democrat Party primaries….certainly the first two, and maybe a lot of others as well:
Together, Mrs. Clinton and her husband, former PresidentBill Clinton, have earned in excess of $125 million inspeech income since leaving the White House in 2001, one-fifthof it in the last two years.
Mrs. Clinton\’s own speechmaking was a veritable tour throughhigh finance. She gave paid speeches at GTCR, the Chicago private equity firm that the Republicangovernor of Illinois, Bruce Rauner, helped found; Deutsche Bank, the Germanfinancial services conglomerate; and the investment bank Morgan Stanley, amongother companies.
Goldman Sachs alone paid Mrs. Clinton $675,000 for three speeches inthree different states, a fact Mr. Sanders has highlighted repeatedly.
Over $125 million in speaking fees? Over $25 million just in the past two years? And a ton of it accounted by Hillary Clinton speaking before a who\’s who of the financial institutions she claims she will be putting the wood to?
You\’d have to be lobotomized to believe that.
My congratulations to Mr. Confessore and Mr. Horowitz for their serious attempt to educate the public about what a solid-gold hypocrite Hillary Clinton is. That is what wins them Paragraphs Of The Day honors.
And here\’s something I don\’t often have a chance to do: my congratulations to the New York Times for putting their article on today\’s front page.
If I were a Republican, I would be praying that, after a hard, donations-draining fight that causes deep intra-party enmity, Hillary Clinton wins this nomination.
Of course, if I were a Democrat, I would be praying that her opponent would be either Donald Trump or Ted Cruz.
If that happens, I think I\’ll be voting for my wife. She may not have much in political credentials, but I guarantee she would be the only President I\’d enjoy sleeping with….
