The previous blog discussed a scandal that does not exist, but has been invented by mainstream media.
Now let\’s talk about a scandal that does exist, but has diligently been buried by those same media.
Excerpted from Kathryn Watson\’s article at dailycaller.com:
Leading members of Congress are rippingIRS officials for erasing a computer hard drive after a federal judge orderedit to be preserved.
“The destruction of evidence subject to preservation orders andsubpoenas has been an ongoing problem under your leadership at the IRS,” Committee on House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Jason Chaffetz and Rep. Jim Jordan , wrote in a letter to IRSCommissioner John Koskinen late Thursday.
“It is stunning to see that the IRS does not take reasonablecare to preserve documents that it is legally required to protect,” Chaffetz, aUtah Republican, and Jordan, an Ohio Republican, said in the letter to Koskinen.
The IRS – under a legal order to preserve computer hard drives that would serve as evidence in a federal crime – is ignoring the legal order and erasing the hard drives anyway.
For what reason, other than to make sure that incriminating evidence is gotten rid of? I dare you to come up with anything else.
If this were a Republican scandal – the intentional targeting of Democrat groups by the IRS and putting their requestions for 501(c)4 status in limbo until an election campaign ended – and the Republican-controlled IRS intentionally was destroying evidence, even when a federal judge ordered it not to,
-How fast do you think the media screams would be?
-How many articles, features and editorials do you think they would have put out?
-And how loud would their screams be for people – like the obnoxious, arrogant john koskinen, and his even more obnoxious, arrogant predecessor, lois “liar” lerner – to be tried, convicted and jailed.
But this is not a Republican scandal. It is a Democrat scandal. So the burial of this story remains intact…and don\’t expect an exhumation any time soon.
These people may think they are journalist. Their business cards may say they are journalists. But they are not. They are paid, partisan propagandists.
And they disgrace the profession they claim to be a part of.
