Remember when syed farook was being characterized as a guy who – against the grain of his “typical American” family, became radicalized by his Saudi wife? Remember his next-door neighbor, enrique marquez, who got him the guns they used, supposedly had no tie to their terrorist massacre/had no idea that his good pal syed had become an islamic radical bent on terrorism? Remember when there was media speculation – along with Presidential speculation – that maybe this had nothing to do with radical islam at all, farook was just someone who had a fight at his office party and went nuts?
Well, since then we have found out – to dramatically less media coverage than the initial “information” – that:
-farook was radicalized just like his wife for years;-He had been planning terrorist actions since at least 2012, maybe even before then;-His mother belonged to a group with radical islamic ties – the islamic circle of north america – and was so deeply involved in that group that she recieved a “certificate of appreciation” from it;-his “non-radical” father assured him that they didn\’t have to worry about Israel because it would not exist in two years – and told him this after farook professed his love of ISIS to daddy dear… a fact his father apparently didn\’t feel it was necessary to tell anyone in law enforcement.-And now we find out that next-door neighbor enrique marquez, though you might think that his Latino name suggests he is Christian, is actually a convert to islam … and may well have known exactly what farook and his wife were going to be doing with those guns.
But no need to provide more than a tiny fraction of the coverage for this information than we got when farook was being characterized as a suddenly-radicalized lone wolf, perverted by his wife, with no ties to islamic terrorist groups.
Ever see a more complete media f-up than this?
And they think they can cover it up/make it go away by barely reporting all the new information/giving it far less coverage than the material they were pumping out at us when they didn\’t know what they were talking about?
Not happening. Not here, anyway.
