Today’s quote comes to us from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). During a government shut-down in 2013, when Republicans shut down the government because they did not want certain policies in place (ObamaCare among them).
Here is what Schumer said at that time:
“What if I persuaded my caucus to say I’m going to shut the government down, I am going to not pay our bills unless I get my way? It’s a politics of idiocy, of confrontation, of paralysis.”
But now, as another day of Democrat-induced government shutdown takes place, do you need me to tell you that Schumer – his 2013 comments notwithstanding – is using his power as Minority Leader to shut the government down, thus disallowing the government to pay its bills unless he gets his way?
So what do we have here, Chuck? Idiocy, confrontation, paralysis, or all three?
I award Chuck Schumer Quote Of The Day “honors” for presenting us with such a clear example of political hypocrisy.
Oh, by the way, you might be interested to know where I came across this quote. It was from Zachary Leeman’s article at the reliably hard-left website, mediaite.com – and the clip of Schumer saying it was broadcast on Manu Raju’s show on reliably Democrat/left CNN.
Is it just me, or does that seem to indicate their side of the political aisle is a little worried about how Schumer is handling things? About how the voting public is going to react?
