Today’s quote – and it is a truly disturbing one – comes to us from podcaster Joe Rogan. It concerns the July 13, 2024 assassination attempt on then-candidate Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania – unsuccessful only due to the shooter’s aim, not any secret service action to prevent it.
Mr. Rogan finds it curious that CNN – the same network that, if you’ll remember, was tipped off and on hand for the FBI’s third-world quality raid on Mar-A-Lago – was covering the Butler rally live. Here’s why:
“Everyone stopped asking questions, and there was never a formal report. There was never press conferences where they detailed all the information we know currently and where the investigation stands at the moment.
What we know is you have a very young kid who was filmed. They knew he was there with a range finder half an hour before the event. You also know that CNN streamed it live, which I do not believe they did for any other rally, and certainly not for a rally that’s in the middle of nowhere in Pennsylvania. There’s a lot of weird shit.”
Fascinating.
Did CNN get the same “get ready, here it comes” tipoff about Butler that they did about Mar-A-Lago? If so, who gave CNN that tipoff, what did they know, and why didn’t they DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?
I award Joe Rogan Quote Of The Day honors for noting this and implying (though not stating in so many words) the inevitable issue it raises.
I will end by reposting a blog I wrote on July 15, two days after the assassination attempt took place. See if you find any commonality between what I said then and what Mr. Rogan is saying now:
UGLY, BUT UNAVOIDABLE, SUSPICIONS/ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT THE ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT
I can’t tell you how much I wish there was no reason to write this blog.
But a would-be assassin was able to get on the roof of a building within range and with an unobstructed view of where Donald Trump was speaking. And we are being told to believe that:
-it was just a whoopsie little mistake that the roof was not secured – despite the unmistakable vulnerability to an assassination attempt it provided…
-and no member of a highly trained secret service detail, specifically charged with protecting Trump, noticed there was a would be assassin on the roof with a rifle…
-…even though more and more video has come out showing people who saw, and loudly pointed out, the would-be assassin to law enforcement personnel.
Yet despite his visible presence and all those warnings, the would-be assassin was unimpeded by secret service in any way – and only addressed/taken out AFTER he set up and AFTER he fired the shots which barely missed killing Trump, but did kill one person and severely wound two others.
It is hard – VERY hard – to avoid suspicions/assumptions about what happened that I wish to hell there was no reason to have.
One other thing: the head of the secret service – who has the final responsibility for what is described above – says “The buck stops here”. But she is not resigning. And Biden is not firing her.
Again: it is hard – VERY hard – to avoid suspicions/assumptions about what happened that I wish to hell there was no reason to have.
How I hope those assumptions/conclusions – those unavoidable assumptions/conclusions – are wrong.
