….you might want to read this letter, written by Fire Chief Kristin Crowley just one month ago. Please pay special attention to the “severely limited the department’s capacity” detail in the second paragraph:
Mayor Karen Bass reduced the allocation for firefighting – but had no problem spending the money that was “saved” – that could have resulted in better response to the disaster Los Angeles is experiencing now – on illegal aliens and a plethora of “woke” initiatives instead.
And the warnings (weather forecasts of high winds/dry conditions) that made it clear there was a high degree of fire danger did not prevent her from heading out on a trip to Ghana exactly when the fires would have started….and, as we know all too well, did start.
If ever a Mayor deserved to be recalled, this is the Mayor.
And that, of course, is before we talk about the unbelievably stupid decisions made by the all-Democrat governance of California regarding clearing of dead brush in forests and accumulating rainwater for use in putting out fires. More on that in subsequent blogs.
Maybe – I doubt it, but maybe – this is finally a wakeup call for the so-called Golden State; the state that its elected officials have spent years turning into pyrite.
