THE PRESIDENT\’S PRESS CONFERENCE

Ken Berwitz

Ray Starmann is a screenwriter and occasional actor.  He is also a former military intelligence officer, and editor of usdfensewatch.com, a strongly pro-military web site.  Obviously, he is not your typical Hollywood type.

Mr. Starmann has written a commentary describing his reaction to President Obama\’s performance regarding international terrorism and, most recently, his press conference regarding the terrorist attacks in Paris.

I do not agree with everything Ray Starmann says.  But I agree with enough of it to post this link to his commentary, and to post the following key excerpts:

As Paris burns, Obama teeters on the edge of reality. AsParis burns, Obama worries about sea levels in the Seychelles. As Paris burns,Obama calls Friday’s attacks, \’a setback.

A setback, Mr.President? One-hundred and twenty-nine people are dead, 350 plus are woundedand you call it a setback. What happened in Paris is a declaration of war onall of us.

(At his press conference) in Turkey,Obama got testy with reporters. Delusional and arrogant, President Obama can\’tadmit that his so-called strategy is no strategy.

“The equation hasclearly changed. Isn\’t it time for your strategy to change?” a French reporterasked.

“Well, keep in mindwhat we have been doing,” Obama said. “We have a military strategy thatinvolves putting enormous pressure on ISIS through airstrikes, that has putassistance and training on the ground with Iraqi forces. We’re now working withSyrian forces as well to squeeze ISIS.”

Enormous pressure?Obama continued ticking off actions the US had taken.

“We\’ve beencoordinating internationally to reduce their financing capabilities, the oilthat they\’re trying to ship outside. We are taking strikes against high-valuetargets,” he said.

“As I said from thestart, it\’s going to take time. What\’s been interesting in the aftermath ofParis, as I listen to those who suggest \’something else needs to be done,\’ typically the things they suggest need to be done are things we are alreadydoing,” he said.

Jim Acosta, a CNNreporter, summed up what he termed the “frustration” of many Americans when hecolorfully asked, “Why can\’t we take out the bastards?”

Exactly… not onlyAmericans, but millions of people across the world are thinking the same thingas Jim Acosta.

How many moreinnocent people will die while Obama sleeps? How many more attacks will occurwhile Obama sleeps? How many more people will ISIS recruit and torture and rapewhile Obama sleeps?

The President of theUnited States is AWOL. ISIS knows it and will continue to exploit this weaknessto the best of their advantage.

Yes, Mr. Starmann.  Barack Obama is not protecting us.  He is a weak, indecisive, defensive, thin-skinned man who shows us no capacity to acknowledge failure and change direction accordingly.

I assume you join me in counting the days – make that seconds – until he is out of office.

January 20, 2017 cannot come soon enough.
