Three time U.S. Senator Bob Casey has conceded he lost this year’s election to Republican challenger David McCormick.
The concession comes two and a half weeks after election day…and only after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s ruling – two different times – that boards of election in Bucks County and other locations stop counting illegal ballots – which they knew full well were illegal but were counting anyway.
The second decision, which put a definitive end to this outrage, was rendered on Monday. Three days later, Casey finally conceded.
This is the correct outcome. McCormick wins; and Bob Casey, who could and should, have demanded those ballots not be counted but stayed conspicuously silent, now has a permanent stain on his legacy.
Sad that Casey’s tenure in the senate ended this way. But that is what he did.
Oh, one other thing: in case you think political considerations entered into the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s decision, please be aware that it is comprised of 5 Democrats and 2 Republicans.
