RAN BARATZ ON JOHN KERRY

Ken Berwitz

Israel\’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has just appointed Mr. Ran Baratz as his top adviser.

Would you like to know what Mr. Baratz thinks of our Secretary of State, John Kerry?

I thought you\’d never ask.

Last year, Mr. Kerry participated in a White House ceremony celebrating Eid al-Adha (a Muslim holiday celebrating God\’s telling Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son…and then, when Abraham was about to do so, telling him he didn\’t have to, it was just a test of his faith.  Abrhaham sacrificed a lamb instead).

At that time, Mr. Kerry decided to barf out the following comment about Israel and the Palestinian Arabs he and his boss, Barack Obama, seem to have a great affinity for.

Specifically Kerry said this:

“As I went around and met with people in the course ofour discussions about the ISIL (ISIS, as everyone but the Obama elitists call it) coalition, the truth is we –there wasn\’t a leader I met with in the region who didn\’t raise with mespontaneously the need to try to get peace between Israel and the Palestinians, because it was a cause of recruitment and of street anger and agitation thatthey felt.”

Translation:  “If those damn Jews had just made peace with “the Palestinians”, ISIS would not be as strong as it now is.  See, it had nothing to do with the USA standing back and allowing ISIS to grow in Syria, where President Obama laid down the red lines he then ignored, it\’s those damn Jews.”

Well, Ran Baratz did not take to that comment kindly.

According to an article in today\’s Jerusalem Post, his response, part of an article he wrote for an online venue, was:

“To Kerry\’s credit, itshould be noted that there is no Miss America around who could say what he saidany better. This is the time to wish the secretary of state good luck, and tocount down the days with the hope that someone over there at the State Departmentwill wake up and begin to see the world through the eyes of a person whosemental age exceeds 12.”

Those are very strong words.  And the fact that Benjamin Netanyahu would make the man who wrote them his top adviser is a glaringly conspicuous indication of how poor relations are between the Israel and the United States.

But there is good news:  It is highly likely that the leaders of every country which wants Israel obliterated and the Jews either gone or dead – probably more the latter than the former – were  very pleased with what Mr. Kerry had to say.  (I\’m not sure how the current Miss America reacted, but I\’ll get back to you just as soon as I find out).

Still over 14 months before this nightmare administration ends.  I count the seconds.
