A QUICK QUESTION ABOUT RUSSIA’S WAR ON THE UKRAINE

When Russia invaded The Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the war wasn’t supposed to last for more than a few weeks.

Let’s stretch that out a bit and say it should have been over – with Russia, of course, overtaking The Ukraine – in about 30 days.

But next month, August 24th to be exact, will mark 30 MONTHS.  Not days, but MONTHS.  And the war rages on.

Russia has lost well over 100,000 troops (most estimates put it in the 120,000 – 140,000 range), with hundreds of thousands more injured…

…and, against all odds, The Ukraine – despite large parts of the country having been devastated – is now gaining Russian territory.

Despite this, vladimir putin remains in office…and people who disagree with the moves he makes have a very unpleasant tendency to die of unnatural causes.

My question:  who is winning?

Is the “winner” so far The Ukraine, with its infrastructure in a shambles and Russia controlling parts of the country?

Is it Russia, which has horrific military casualties and the loss of enormous amounts of military equipment, warships, etc…not to mention being exposed as dramatically weaker militarily than most people thought?

Y’know, people (like me) just might conclude that there is no winner.  No winner at all…..
