All this past week Joe Biden presented himself as 100% cognitively. and assured us he was absolutely, positively running for re-election. Right up to yesterday morning, I was receiving emails from the Biden campaign telling me as much. So his sudden departure is not – NOT – because he feels incapable or unwilling to run.
That being the case, let’s consider the two most likely possibilities: that Democrats forced him out because they think he is incapable of being President and/or because they feel he can’t win.
-If the reason Joe Biden is out is that he’s been judged incapable of performing as President, why is he still in office now? Why hasn’t he – willingly or unwillingly – resigned?
-If the reason Joe Biden is out is that he was forced to quit the race by his Democrat colleagues on the grounds that they think he can’t win in November, then what do they say to the 15 MILLION or so primary voters who made him their candidate? How do they explain that Democrat primary voters around the country might as well have stayed home because their party – the party, let’s remember, that claims it is trying to preserve democracy – doesn’t care who they voted for?
Biden’s announced departure (and, let’s remember, he hasn’t actually announced it; have you seen or heard him since the news was made public?) does not begin to end the mess Democrats are in right now.
