Did you know that mainstream media are favoring Donald Trump over Joe Biden?
You may find that a tad hard to believe – a little like trying to believe in unicorns and the tooth fairy. But it must be true. Why? Because Joe Biden says so.
Here, from Lindsay Kornick’s article at Fox News, is a series of exchanges between Biden and NBC News’ Lester Holt. And – unlike the set-up “press conferences” we have seen, where Biden had a list of approved questioners with presumably approved questions, Holt dared to ask a few serious questions:
After asking whether Biden had watched video of his debate with Trump, these exchanges took place:
Holt: “The reason I ask is because, I guess, the question is, are you all on the same page at the White House? Are you seeing what they saw, which was, frankly, moments where you appeared to be confused?”
Biden: “Lester, look. Why don’t you guys ever talk about the 18, 28 lies he told? Where are you on this? Why don’t the press ever talk about that? 28 times it’s confirmed he lied in that debate. I had a bad, bad night. I wasn’t feeling well at all. I had been…I screwed up.”
Holt: “I just ask the question because the idea that you may or may not have seen what some of these other folks have seen, you’re not on the same-“
Biden: “I didn’t have to see. I was there! By the way, seriously, you won’t answer the question, but why didn’t the press talk about all lies he told?”
Holt: “We have reported many of the issues that came up during the debate.”
Biden: “No, you haven’t. No, you haven’t.”
Holt: “We will provide you with them.”
Biden (smirking) “God love you.”
Then, further on:
Holt: “If the opportunity came up to do [another debate] between now and then, is there a sense of wanting to get back on that horse?”
Biden: “I’m on the horse! Where have you been? I’ve done 22 major events and thousands of people, overwhelming crowds. A lot happening.”
Apart from the absurdity of suggesting that media have favored Donald Trump, It should be noted that:
-While it is true that much of what Trump said during the debate was bull-excrement, Biden repeatedly lied as well.
-The press was all over Trump for the lies he told.
-Someone would have to show me the “22 major events” Biden referenced to Holt, because I can’t find them.
-And Biden’s “overwhelming crowds” claim is a bad joke. Even though he is a sitting president, Biden does not draw overwhelming, or even large, crowds. By contrast, Trump fills stadiums to near-capacity.
All in all? Another poor performance for Biden; another reason so many Democrats fervently wish he were not their presidential candidate; and another reason so many of them will keep trying to get rid of Biden, even though he, at least as of today, has no intention of going anywhere.
Bottom line? The Republican Party – at least as of now – is united behind Trump/Vance. The Democrat Party – due to Joe Biden’s intransigence – is in the middle of a civil war.
