We’ve talked about this numbers of times, but the collusion between the United Nations – most specifically the United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) – and hamas bears repeating again now.

Israeli troops fought militants across Gaza on Wednesday, including in the southern city of Rafah that had been a refuge for civilians, in an upsurge of the more than seven-month war that has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians.
Antagonism between Israel and the United Nations worsened as the Israeli army sought an explanation for footage showing armed men next to U.N. Palestinian relief agency vehicles. Separately, the U.N. said it was investigating an unidentified strike that killed an international staffer in Gaza earlier this week.
Israel said its troops had identified fighters in the central logistics compound of the U.N. Palestinian relief agency UNRWA east of Rafah, demanding an explanation. Reuters verified the location of the footage released by the Israeli army but could not verify when it was filmed or the identity of the men.
“The U.N. has in part become a terrorist entity in itself because it cooperates with Hamas and covers for it,” Israel’s ambassador to the U.N. Gilad Erdan told Army Radio.
UNRWA has denied allegations of cooperating with Hamas.
The agency said it was examining the footage and would share information when possible. Senior Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri told Reuters the men were there to protect aid distribution.
Yep, sure. hamas gunmen were there “to protect aid distribution” all right. Aid distribution to HAMAS. Not Gazan civilians, but HAMAS – as just about everyone seems to know, but the UN cannot – will not – acknowledge.
Let’s remember, of course, that this is the same UNRWA that, for years and years, has overseen “schools” where Gazan schoolchildren are taught Jews are the spawn of monkeys and pigs, they should all be killed, and the greatest honor a student can attain is dying while killing Jews.
Let’s also remember that the casualty figures cited in this article are taken straight from hamas – which a) lies about everything and b) does not acknowledge that any of its fighters are among those casualties. How can anyone believe a thing that comes from this “source”?
The UN is an utter disgrace. A formerly meaningful organization that is now a pathetic joke…and has made Israel a particular target.
Here’s what I wish for that terrible area of the world:
-May Israel wipe out hamas and give Gaza back to the Gazans.
-May those Gazans be re-educated to accept Jews, and Israel, as worthy partners instead of death targets.
-May Gaza learn from Egypt and Jordan, both of which made peace with Israel decades ago and have done nothing but benefit from that peace.
-And may Gaza learn from the two million or so Arabs who live within Israel, who have not arisen against the Jewish majority – in no small part because they lead far better lives under that majority than they ever would or could under hamas.
I’m not counting on any of these wishes becoming reality. But wouldn’t it be great for everyone if they did?
