QATAR AND OUR COLLEGES/UNIVERSITIES

Qatar is an oil-rich Arab country in the Persian Gulf.

Qatar is also the home away from home for hamas’ leadership – those nice folks who take the aid money intended to make Gazan citizens’ lives better, then use it to become fabulously wealthy and live it up in resplendent luxury.

And, more importantly, Qatar is the benefactor of dozens of colleges and universities throughout the United States – whose faculties just might be showing their appreciation by tailoring their curricula and non-academic activities to an anti-Israel, pro-“Palestinian”/hamas stance.

Want some specifics?  OK.  Let’s take a look at this excerpt from Adam Kredo’s latest article for freebeacon.com (and please use the link to continue reading, because there’s a lot more as well):

Qatar, the oil-rich Middle Eastern nation that provides shelter and cash to the Hamas terror group’s top leaders, has spent nearly $6 billion since 2007 lobbying the American government and funneling cash to the United States’ top universities, funding that is generating scrutiny in Congress.

With Qatar emerging as a central mediator in the United States’ attempts to reach a hostage deal between Israel and Hamas, Doha’s decades-long influence peddling operation in America is raising concerns about the country’s ties to the Iran-backed terror group.

Qatar has given or contracted more than $5.6 billion to 61 American schools since 2007, including Ivy Leagues such as Harvard University, Yale University, Cornell University, and Stanford University, according to funding records reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon. The country has also doled out more than $243 million on lobbying efforts in the United States since 2015, with more than $16 million spent in 2023 alone.

More than $5.6 billion to 61 American schools since 2007.  That’s about $330,000,000 million dollars – a third of a billion dollars – a year, to our colleges and universities.

Just what do you suppose Qatar believes it is buying with that money?

And, based on the trained seals marching through these campuses with their Israel is committing genocide/Israel is an occupying force/Israel has no right to exist/from the river to the sea Palestine will be free signs and slogans, how effectively would you conclude that money been spent?

If I were considering colleges/universities for my child today, I think I would want – make that demand – an accounting of how much money has been received by those schools from what countries  – most especially Qatar.  And I would want to know, if at all possible, what that money was being used for;  what “education” (indoctrination?) of the schools’ students it was buying.

At the very least, I would take a long, hard look at what, besides the major courses of study (maybe even those as well) the students were being fed by administrations that did not want to lose the $$$ being forked over by the friends and guardians of hamas’ leadership.

It seems to me there very much needs to be an investigation of the influence Qatar (and, presumably, other countries) are buying with their money.  A long overdue one.
