“Food, Glorious Food” was one of the haunting, brilliant songs from Lionel Bart\’s musical “Oliver Twist”.
Young Mr. Twist, as you might imagine, did a lot of fasting – though not willingly, for a religious holiday, as we did.
But I doubt that he broke his fasts with the kind of food we had tonight.
Another year, another fast over. And 12 more months to do the things I will be repenting for next year about this time.
