The second day of Rosh Hashanah was great. We drove into Brooklyn – the Staten Island Expressway and Brooklyn Queens Expressway were no problem at all (that happens about 6 or 7 times a decade). No parking on the street where we were, so we drove into a lot at about 2:55. The parking attendant was nice enough to suggest that we wait five minutes…because before three day rates applied and we\’d get nailed for $30, but if we waited until 3:00PM it dropped to $10. Needless to say we waited, and he got a good tip for his tip.
The family gathering was great. Lots of talking, laughing, fun and love.
Ok, now – at least in theory – I have ten days to repent for my sins of the past year (which is never enough time)….and then a day of fasting (which is always too much time). After that, I can start sinning all over again, with about a year to accumulate a new total.
Funny how that works.
