How did Hillary Clinton sleep last night? The answer may be “not very well at all.
Read the beginning of Rosalind Helderman, Tom Hamburger and Carol Leonnig\’s article for the Washington Post and I doubt you\’ll wonder why:
The company that managed Hillary Rodham Clinton\’s privatee-mail server said it has “no knowledge of the server being wiped,” thestrongest indication to date that tens of thousands of e-mails that Clinton hassaid were deleted could be recovered.
Clinton and heradvisers have said for months that she deleted her personal correspondence fromher time as secretary of state, creating the impression that 31,000 e-mailswere gone forever.
To make theinformation go away permanently, a server must be wiped – a process thatincludes overwriting the underlying data with gibberish, possibly severaltimes.
That process, according to Platte River Networks, the Denver-based firm that has managed thesystem since 2013, apparently did not happen.
If Ms. Clinton does lose sleep over the prospect that her “wiped” emails are retrievable, I assure you it won\’t be because you\’ll find out about her yoga class and her daughter\’s wedding plans.
If she is tossing and turning, it is because this would raise, among other things, the emails during and after the Benghazi massacre, and her actions as Secretary Of State regarding companies, and countries, which contributed heavily to The Clinton Foundation.
Based on poll after poll, it is already a pretty well-established fact that most people do not trust Hillary Clinton. I don\’t mean they question her veracity, I mean they think she just plain lies to our faces. So it\’s not like, should the relevant emails become available, many will be surprised if their content makes Ms. Clinton out to be a liar, any more than they would be surprised that a Maserati costs more than a Hyundai.
But the detailed content within those emails, if they ever see the light of day, might do more than prove whether Hillary Clinton lied about Benghazi and/or favoritism to fill the coffers of her family\’s “foundation”. The detailed content might provide specifics of what was done and not done in Benghazi, and of who got what for handing over $$$ to the Clintons.
And that, I am certain, would be more than enough to keep Ms. Clinton, in the words of Bobby Lewis, “Tossin\’ and turnin\’ all night”.
