Today\’s quote comes to us from “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough.
During a panel discussion about Senator Chuck Schumer\’s opposition to the Iran nuclear “deal\’, Nicolle Wallace noted that some people were suggesting that Schumer\’s opposition to the Iran “deal\’ was because he is a tool of the Jewish lobby – which seemed to resonate with co-host Mika Brzezinski (which does not surprise me a bit – I get the sense that she is every bit her father\’s daughter – her father being Israel-hating zbigniew brzezinski, national security adviser under Jimmy Carter).
Here is how Scarborough responded
It\’s always been the dogwhistle, hasn\’t it? It\’s the Jewish lobby. You people kowtow to theJewish — it\’s always been the dog whistle from the left that if you — youcan\’t if you\’re Chuck Schumer sincerely be concerned about the safety andfuture existence of Israel. That\’s always been the dog whistle. Oh, you\’re justlistening to the Jewish lobby. Why don\’t you just say international bankers?Why don\’t you guys just talk about international bankers and, yknow the Protocols ofZion. It\’s sick and it\’s repulsive and it\’s a smear and it continues and thePresident of the United States only makes it worse by saying that you have tobe ignorant. Or else in bed with Iranian radicals if you oppose my deal . . .For a lot of left-wingers in America and Europe, this is the one issue whereyou\’re not allowed to be reasonable. Where reasonable people can differ. You\’reeither against Israel and for this deal or the Jewish lobby has paid you offand you\’re scared of these powerful Jews lurking behind crevices andinternational banks. It\’s sickening. And it\’s bigotry and it should be calledout. Who dares suggest that Chuck Schumer is doing this
And that\’s not all. When Brzezinski, stung by the directness of Scarborough\’s words,exasperatedly answered “Oh my God. Ok, that\’s ike the fourth time. We get the point. Seriously”, Scarborough followed up withthis:
“No,you don\’t get the point. You\’re the last person on the face of the Earth thatappears to get the point.”
And it continued, just as rancorously, forseveral more minutes. Watch the video and see for yourself.
I award Joe ScarboroughQuote Of The Day honors for – with apologies for using a truly hackneyed phrase- telling it like it is. Too bad his logic andcommon sense was wasted on Brzezinski.
