For whatever it means to you…
…if you want really excellent Greek food, and you like a funky, East Village area to eat it in, head for Pylos, on E. 7th St. between Avenue A and 1st Avenue.
Terrific atmosphere (which is a departure from a lot of the other restaurants in that area), including a ceiling comprised of pottery – you\’ll have to see it to understand – of the type indigenous to the town of Pylos – not its current incarnation in South Greece, but the original town which was destroyed about 3,200 years ago).
The professional, attentive service staff will enhance your meal…and the prices, while not cheap, are not at all expensive by Manhattan standards (mains tend to be in the mid $20s). Ditto for the wine list.
OK, back to politics, where excellent, professional and attentive are – or at any rate should be – among the least-used adjectives in the dictionary.
