Baltimore has just achieved a milestone. But somehow I doubt there will be any celebration.
Yesterday, the 200th homicide was recorded. If this pace continues through the rest of the year, there will be a total of about 325.
Last year, on this date, the total was 131. And the yearly total was 211 – which should be exceeded before August is over.

Great job, whoever the new police commissioner is (Kevin Davis, at least on an interim basis)….former commissioner Batts having been fired, as if he were the only problem there; as if the Mayor and her people had nothing to do with the city\’s beyond-sorry state of affairs.
How proud you all must be that Baltimore has achieved this under your watch.
