USELESS INFORMATION DEPARTMENT: FLINTSTONES VITAMINS

One more non-serious post…then back to the real stuff again:

This weekend, I caught a Flintstone\’s Vitamins commercial.

It turns out the company is still using that “We\’re the Flintstones Kids. Ten million strong…and growing” jingle we all remember.

So I did some checking, and found out Flintstone Vitamins first used the jingle in 1985. That’s 30 years ago.

In 1985 there were 238 million people in the USA. Today there are 319 million – a population increase of 34%.

This means that, just to break even, Flintstone\’s Vitamins should have 13.4 million users.

But the jingle still says they are “ten million strong…and growing”.

No, they are NOT growing.

If you find any information less useful than this today – or, for that matter, this wee…no, make that this year – let me know.
