It\’s not working.
Everyone already knows Hillary Clinton, and everyone already thinks of her what they think of her. The only difference since she announced her candidacy in April, is that the email scandal, the Benghazi scandal and the Clinton Foundation scandal have continued to propel her image downward……..as anyone reading her polls certainly knows.
So what does an increasingly desperate Clinton campaign staff do?
Why, it keeps trying to divert attention away from these scandals by reinventing her.
Excerpted from Michael A. Memoli\’s article in today\’s Los Angeles Times:
After more than two decades in the public eye, Clinton entered her second presidential race this spring with nearly universal name recognition. But her campaign staff viewed the situation differently, calling her the least-known famous person in the world; the public view is of the former first lady, senator and secretary of State, but not the woman herself. So as Clinton tours early primary states and holds intimate gatherings with voters, she seems to go out of her way to share the kinds of details voters may not have known.
“Americans don\’t know the first 35 years of her life. And that\’s not what happens with most candidates,” said Jennifer Palmieri, the campaign\’s communications director. “They don\’t emerge on the national scene without you understanding where they came from. So we thought it was important: Let\’s go all the way back to what originally motivated her.”
Just what the country needs. A Hillary prequel.
This is supposed to boost Hillary Clinton\’s ratings? Finding what she did as a teenybopper is supposed to (pardon a bad pun here) “Trump” her lying BS about the emails? The cash-for-influence operation known as The Clinton Foundation?
I don\’t care how many reinventions they reinvent for the numerously reinvented Hillary Reinvention Clinton. It\’s not working. And there is a good chance it isn\’t going to in the future as well.
Look at it this way: if Bernie Sanders is already giving her a run for her money, and Joe Biden very likely is poised to jump in as we near the LDD (that\’s the Labor Day Dichotemy – when voters go from barely paying attention at all, to at least occasionally noticing what is happening and caring about it), while Hillary Clinton\’s numbers continue to head south…
…where does that lead? To Ms. Clinton cakewalking into the nomination?
Not hardly.
Hillary Clinton inevitable? Believe me, she\’s evitable.
