THE COURAGE OF STEVEN A. SMITH

Steven A. Smith is an announcer/commentator on ESPN.  He is also a very courageous man.

Here, pulled from Christian Datoc\’s article at dailycaller.com, are three tweets he issued about the #Blacklivesmatter “movement”:

-Where is all the noise about #BlackLivesMatter when black folks are killing black folks?

-There\’s nothing wrong when a presidential candidate says “All lives Matter”!

-I\’m a black man. Of course I know #BlackLivesMatter. You can\’t boo a presidential candidate just b/c he says “all lives matter”.

Every word of what Mr. Smith said is true.

However, the racists – yes, racists – who are running #Blacklivesmatter are going to hate him for putting up those tweets – which should be no problem, since hate seems far more of a driving force to them than caring about Black lives.

As I have pointed out many times in this blog, on an average day, over 17 Black people are murdered in the United States…with about 16 of them murdered by other Black people.  If Black lives matter, then those lives matter.

And any group which ignores them – instead concentrating on the minuscule number of Black people killed by law enforcement, regardless of the circumstances – does not give a damn about Black lives.

So thank you Steven A. Smith, for speaking out as you did.  It took a lot of courage….combined with common sense and logic.

How sad – how tragic – that so many people seem incapable of putting them together as you have.
