A note to the news media which have happily started using the name “El Chapo instead of joaquin guzman.
joaquin guzman is his name (I don\’t capitalize it).
He is Mexico\’s most prolific drug dealer. Which means he has ruined, and ended, more lives than any other Mexican drug dealer.
His name is not “El Chapo”. That is a nickname. The kind of thing you use for someone you are friendly with. Like “Bobby” or “Jimbo”.
Do you consider joaquin guzman your friend?
No?
Then how about not calling him “El Chapo” anymore. how about calling him joaquin guzman. The drug dealer. The one who wouldn\’t think twice about addicting your children to heroin and killing you if you tried to stop him.
joaquin guzman. Not “El Chapo”.
Got it?
