NEW YORK TIMES CAVES ON ITS “BULKCRAP”

Two days ago I blogged about the New York Times continuing in its tradition of doing what it can to suppress conservative literature, by refusing to put Ted Cruz\’s new Book, “A Time For Truth” on its best seller list – despite the fact that it is a huge best-seller.

The Times\’ reason?  That Cruz\’s success was due to bulk sales – i.e. groups supporting Cruz buying up large numbers of his book so it would hit the best seller and boost his standing with the voting pubic.

Cruz told them – and us – that was a lie and there were no bulk sales.  Just what you would expect him to say, even it there were.

But HarperCollins, his publisher also said so.  Also just what you would expect.

But then Amazon, and Barnes & Noble – both of which have “A Time For Truth” on their best seller lists, told us they had no evidence whatsoever that bulk sales were in play.

So, today, The Times – grudgingly (I am certain), and embarrassedly (I wish – I doubt The Times has the capacity to be embarrassed by this) has suddenly reversed field and, in effect, is saying “oh, look, Ted Cruz\’s book is really selling to individual people this week.  Not last week when we wouldn\’t allow it on our best seller list, but this week.  So in it goes at #7.”

You can read all about it in Mary Katherine Ham\’s blog at hotair.com

Personally, I would bet that Cruz\’s book did better than #7.  If The Times would toss a load of “bulkcrap” to keep it off the list, why would I trust The Times to accurately show how well it really is selling?

What a disgrace this newspaper has become.
